Good and Evil
Good is when it is good for as many living beings as possible. Evil is when it is good for as few living beings as possible.
If a person cooks food for themselves, let us say a vegetable salad. This is good for this person. Another person also cooks food, also a vegetable salad, but a chicken dies because it was cooked (1). Here there is less good, because one being died. Helping a family is even more good.
Helping a family, and at the same time no one was harmed, is even more good.
One can help the people of a city, the people of a country, the people of the planet. That is even more good. If at the same time no birds, dogs, ants, or other living beings were harmed, then there is even more good.

Note (1): The body of a chicken is not meant to be eaten, unlike an apple. We need to take into account the wishes of all living beings. An apple is also alive.
